'Loveless' is an optimistic black comedy that celebrates the diversity of people and relationships. The comedy is centred on the introverted Carle and his passion for the sport of pigeon racing.
Carle inherited the pigeon racing bug from his father, who died when he was fourteen. In between race meets and flying his birds he works as a technician at the city library and cares for his ageing mother, Esther.
When Esther elopes with her solicitor, Carle is faced with the harsh reality that even his mother has better luck in relationships. Things turn from bad to worse, and when his pigeons are involved in a nasty accident, Carle seems to have nowhere left to turn to escape his loneliness.
'Loveless' was developed through Screen Australia's Indivision initiative.
